While driving by, someone noticed Violet the dog along with several other canines that were tethered to heavy-duty metal chains. These restraints were not only preventing the dogs from freely moving around, but they were also causing them harm.
When Violet was found, she was already 2 years old. Angela Stell, who is the founder and director of NMDOG, thinks that she’s been tied up all her life. Six dogs were rescued in total from a property in New Mexico. It is against the law to keep dogs chained when they’re not supervised by humans.
The local county sheriff’s department was sent to the property to find the owners, but it seemed like the dogs had been left behind. NMDOG took all the dogs, including Violet, and started their journey to recovery.
According to Stell, Violet seems to have been mistreated due to her behavior, which caused her to be surprised and a bit anxious. Thankfully, the puppy is doing well physically and emotionally, and she will soon be ready for adoption once her recovery is finished!
